Let’s be honest.
A of lot storytelling in marketing is complete crap.
Too many self-centred ‘storytellers’ hear the word ‘hero’ and think it means them. Or their company. Or their product.
It doesn’t.
And for those that think it does, a special place in marketing hell awaits.
If it was up to me, I’d drop them all in that toilet bowl from Trainspotting.
*Splosh*
And when they come up for air, customers would be in their faces, screaming the chorus from that Tina Turner song…
“WE DON’T NEED ANOTHER HERO!”
Then back down they’d go…
*Splosh*
And back up…
“WE DON’T NEED ANOTHER HERO!”
And back down…
*Splosh*
No rinse.
Just repeat.
For all eternity.
Could there be a more fitting punishment for not putting the customer at the centre of everything?
